After reading The Water Princess by Susan Verde, children in Ms. Catherine and Ms. Josette’s 2nd grade class were inspired to help students in Africa get clean water at their school. We learned about The Georgie Badiel Foundation and raised money by having a coin drive. They raised $547.50, almost three times our goal! This money is enough to restore one well bringing water to hundreds of villagers or school children in Burkina Faso. The children had a great time learning how to wrap coins and are feeling very proud of their accomplishments!
