This year 5th graders at PS 8 are taking part in the Facing Differences Challenge. Students made portraits that represent themselves and then submitted them to Students Rebuild. Students Rebuild partners with the Bezos Foundation who donates three dollars per portrait with a goal of $600,000. This money will be used to train boys and girls from different religions in leadership and conflict resolution in Nigeria. It will also be used to promote diversity and understanding in Sri Lanka and bring boys and girls of different ethnic backgrounds together in the South Caucasus region of Eastern Europe.
